Joan Lisonbee Sowards holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University. She writes music and has published many of her songs. Two have won awards in the annual Relief Society song writing contest: "Ponder the Path of Thy Feet" in 1995, and "Savior, Like Thee I Will Live" in 1996. Joan wrote and sang the theme song, "Write Here, Write Now" for ANWA's writers conference in 1998. She typesets music as a business. Visit Joan's free LDS sheet music website at www.joansowards.com.

Her musical entitled "Come to Lehi" was performed at Westwood High School's Shepherd Auditorium in 1997. It will be produced again March 1-2, 2006, at the Lehi Stake Center, 1450 N. Grand, Mesa, Arizona.

Joan also enjoys writing prose. Her story, "The Last Gift of Christmas," won Third Place in the 1996 Covenant Christmas Story contest, and was published in the book A Merry Little Christmas (Covenant, 1996). Joan published LDS Word Puzzles through Spring Creek Books in 2005.
