Mary B. Katzenbach, a long-time resident of Ohio, studied drama at the National Foundation of Dramatic Art in Philadelphia, Pa. She served in the U.S. Navy (WAVES) during World War II, stationed in Washington, D.C. and New York City. She received a B.S. degree in English and Journalism from The Ohio State University (OSU), College of Education. While there, she earned an award from the English Department for her short story, "Too Much Homework."

She wrote Multiply and Divide, a History of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Central Ohio, published by Tri Village Printing Co., Columbus, Ohio (available now in CD) and later wrote a dramatization based upon that work. She wrote a novel On the Fringe, published by Legend eXpress, Mesa, Arizona. Along with her work as a freelance editor for the past 25 years, she has volunteered many hours to teaching writing skills to high school and college students in both Columbus and Phoenix.

Other works (presently unpublished) include a novel, Snow on the Carousel, a nonfiction book, How to Buy Your Own Retreat, and an essay, "Grandma Got Game." Her latest achievement is Twin Adventures in Ecuador, subtitled Peril and Pleasure in Becoming a Mormon Missionary, an account of the fascinating experiences of twin grandsons on missions in Ecuador, where they face daunting challenges in the tangled jungles of a primitive third-world country.

Widowed recently, she has two sons, three grandsons and one granddaughter, for whom she has reluctantly exchanged the green hills of Ohio for the desert of Arizona.
