Presidency Message

Several sisters have joined ANWA since the middle of last year, and we are very happy to welcome them as members of our writing network.

Harriet Dodge and Lorraine Arbizu live in Mesa, Arizona, and have affiliated with Salt River Scribes Chapter. In fact, they are serving as chapter president and vice president. Lynn Larsen and Connie White, both of Mesa, are members of Southeast Scribes Chapter. Rachel Trim of Tempe also goes to Southeast Scribes. Chalice Carpenter lives in Glendale and Jill Laing lives in Phoenix, and both attend Westside Stories Chapter. Katrina Weston also comes to us from Phoenix, and meets with Westridge Writers Special Interest Cluster.

Five other sisters from Arizona have joined us as newsletter members: Mischa Borgnaes of Safford—-the daughter of Becky Rohner—-co-authored their book, A Heartful of Diamonds, which is being published as an audio book this month; LDS journalist Nina Kelly of Flagstaff; Mary D. King of Arlington (near the Palo Verde nuclear plant); Gwyn Nichols of Mesa, and freelance writer debbi Weitzell of Tucson (she prefers the lowercase spelling of her first name).

Poet Derry Bresee lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. Konnie Enos of Albany and Carilyn Himes of Gresham make up our Oregon contingent. Carrie Wright of Othello, Washington joins Sherri Zirker in that state. Cody, Wyoming, is the home of romance novelist Carla Parsons. Amy Wadsworth of Salt Lake City, is working to organize a Utah chapter. Across the country, Carey “C.C.” Tibbetts resides in Orlando, Florida, the state in which our dear Lisa Odaffer-—late of Alabama-—now lives in Bradenton.

We are blessed to have these sisters as part of ANWA, and have great hopes and expectations for them and their writing.
